Add an employee
Four digits, and no two employees may share one - a shared PIN makes a punch impossible to attribute.
Managers approve refunds, discounts, credit given without payment and cash out of the drawer. The first employee added is one, and there is always at least one.

Deactivated employees keep their hours and stop being able to clock in. Nothing is deleted.
Pay details
Tipped staff are asked for their cash tips when they clock out, and may be paid a cash wage under the minimum wage (the tip credit). The tipped occupation code goes on their W-2 (box 14b) from 2026: 102 is wait staff, 101 bartenders, 107 counter workers. The full list is at irs.gov/ttoc.

- Sam Lee: tips did not cover the tip credit. The shop owes $77.91 to bring pay up to the minimum wage.
- $216.42 in card tips is not credited to anyone yet. Credit it from the Tips list on the register.

Year-End Summary
One row per person for the year: wages, overtime premium, card and cash tips, and tipped occupation code. For your payroll service or accountant to prepare W-2s. It is not a W-2.
Payroll settings
The start date also sets the day the work week begins, for overtime. Overtime 0 turns it off. The minimum wage is used for tipped staff: their tip credit and their overtime rate. Use your state's if it is higher than the federal $7.25.
Manager approval
Require a manager override for high-risk actions
Asks for a manager PIN before a refund, a discount, credit granted with no payment, cash out of the drawer, a stock adjustment, editing employees, or exporting the database. The admin password always works instead. Every approval is recorded.
0 asks every time, which is the safer setting on a till a whole shift shares. Set a window if a manager fixing several lines should only be asked once.
